The Biography of Reggie White

Reggie White was one of the best football players of all time. He was born on December 19,1961 in the town of Chattanooga,Tennesee and died December 26,2004 in Cornelius, North Carolina.

At 6 foot 5 inches tall and almost 300 pounds, Reggie White was the perfect defensive end/tackle. When he first started playing in the NFL in 1985 he was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles. While playing for the Eagles he had the best record for a defensive lineman ever. In 1993, after having 124 quarterback sacks in just 121 games for the Eagles, he switched teams to play for the Green Bay Packers. I think he played the best when he played for the Green Bay Packers. Brett Favre, former Green Bay Packer, said, "I am a better person for having been around Reggie White." In SuperBowl XXXI, Reggie had a record of 3 sacks in that one game.

Overall, Reggie White made 198 sacks in his career. He was the defensive player of the year in 1987, 1991 and 1998. After retiring for one year, Reggie came back to play for the Carolina Panthers in 2000. As the best defensive end in NFL history, Reggie White was inducted in the Pro-Football Hall of Fame in 2006.

I selected Reggie White to write this biography about because he played my defensive position in football and I love football. I learned that he was one of the best football players that ever lived and I wish I could have met him.

The most surprising thing about him is that he was a minister and he played professional football so he was called ''The Minister of Defense''. He once said, "God places the heaviest burden on those who can carry its weight." Reggie White was not just good, he was great!
